RUBY LAFFERTY

Emerging Sydney pop artist Ruby Lafferty plans to achieve stardom by any means necessary. Her passion for performing began at age 8, after seeing the Lion King musical at Sydney's Capitol Theatre in 2013. Throughout her schooling, she performed both as a soloist and in ensembles in some of Sydney's most prestigious venues, such as Town Hall, the ICC Sydney & Ken Rosewall Arena.

At 18 years old, she wowed Australian powerhouse Kate Miller-Heidke & US  superstar Adam Lambert on Season 13 of The Voice Australia, turning both coaches' big red chairs. Lambert secured Lafferty with the infamous 'block' button after celebrating her unique vocals & charismatic personality, which he described as a "gift."  Ruby finished in the Top 30 for 2024.

Her next venture is to publish her songwriting, which has become an integral part of her life for the last 7 years. "Music is the only language recognised by everyone across the globe. It unites us in grief, joy, helps us feel nostalgia, relief - it is so powerful," she says. "I would love nothing more than to be a part of that power - I want to heal people, make music that makes hands go up and voices shout. I want people to feel the same confidence listening in their headphones as I do performing on stage. To change lives - even just one - that end goal is all that matters to me."

Lafferty is an amalgamation of R&B, soul, and all forms of pop, inspired by vocal icons Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson & Dua Lipa. Alongside her vocal talents, Lafferty currently works as a model under SLP Management, enjoys being a freelance makeup artist & is a barista of 3 years (makes a great cappuccino).
